Chelsea Piers

Photobucket
Chelsea Piers Sports & Entertainment Complex is a 28-acre waterfront sports village located between 17th and 23rd Streets along Manhattan's Hudson River. This $120 million, privately-financed project has transformed four historic, but long-neglected, piers into a major center for public recreation and waterfront access. Situated on Piers 59, 60, 61 and 62 and in the headhouse that connects them, the Complex features several sports and entertainment venues. We had a sandwich right here at the cafe with a view to The Spirit of New York!

A carousel had been in operation at Central Park since 1871. The original carousel was powered by a blind horse and mule. The current carousel was manufactured by the Stein & Goldstien Company of Brookyln, for a trolley terminal outside Coney Island.

The New Yorker Hotel

Photobucket
New Yorker Hotel is conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan on 34th Street and the corner of 8th Avenue.
This hotel is just across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station and it's the closest major hotel to the Javits
Convention Center. Down the street you'll find the Empire State Building, and Macy's. A few minutes' walk and you're in
the Theater District and the new Times Square entertainment area.
We stayed there 10 days and I will do it again sometime. I'm lovin' it!

The Bronx Is Up!

Photobucket
And, well, this is The Bronx, one of New York City's "must see" communities. It's a place of world-famous attractions,
diverse artistic expression, miles of parks, and over 60 landmarks and historic districts. It's where people like
Edgar Allan Poe and Mark Twain lived -- and break dancing and salsa music were born.
